Jobs requirements
Nekki is a game development studio with over 20 years of experience. We create games for mobile, PC, and consoles, focusing on product quality and player experience.
The Shadow Fight series and Vector have been downloaded over 1 billion times, and we continue to grow and support these franchises. At the same time, we’re building new titles: SPINE and Fight Me.
We are currently looking for a Technical Artist to join the team of our new PC/Console project – SPINE.
SPINE is made with Unreal Engine 5 and centered around cinematic gun-fu shootouts. It’s a third-person beat’em’up with a full set of PC gaming features, including a deep storyline, a unique setting, cutscenes, intriguing enemies, memorable bosses, character progression, and, most importantly, breathtaking battles with a wide array of firearms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize the art pipeline for Unreal Engine
- Refactor shaders, materials, and master materials
- Enhance visual quality, lighting, and post-processing within the game
- Assist in establishing target performance metrics and budgets
- Optimize content to meet defined performance targets
- Research methods and technologies to solve project requirements
- Create content guidelines based on established metrics and research
- Develop content validation tools for artists
- Collaborate closely with the art and programming teams
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Artist, including time in a Senior role or at an equivalent level of responsibility
- At least one shipped title in a similar role: AA/AAA, PC or console, built on UE5 utilizing Nanite and Lumen technology
- A portfolio showcasing personal technical contributions: tools, shaders, materials, lighting, optimization, and implemented team workflows
- Expert proficiency in Unreal Engine 5
- Great familiarity of Nanite, Lumen (HWRT), Virtual Shadow Maps, Virtual Texturing, and Niagara
- Deep understanding of real-time rendering, PBR, lighting, shaders, and optimization
- Clear grasp of performance budgets and technical standards
- Ability to independently identify systemic bottlenecks, architect solutions, and roll them out into production
- Proven ability to balance visual fidelity, performance, and deadlines
Would be a plus:
- Experience integrating and configuring upscalers (TSR, DLSS, FSR, PSSR)
- Experience with current-gen console optimization
- Hands-on experience with profiling tools such as Unreal Insights, GPU Visualizer, RenderDoc, PIX, or similar
- Scripting skills in Python and Blueprints; working knowledge of HLSL and C++
