Nekki is a game development studio, the creator of Shadow Fight Arena, Shadow Fight 3, Shadow Fight 2 and Vector. The total number of registered users for our games exceeds 1,5 billion worldwide. We develop and release games for PC, consoles, and mobile platforms.

 

We are currently looking for a Unreal Engine Developer to join the team of our upcoming single-player third-person action game – SPINE.

 

SPINE is made with Unreal Engine 5 and centered around cinematic gun-fu shootouts. It’s a third-person beat’em’up with a full set of PC gaming features, including a deep storyline, a unique setting, cutscenes, intriguing enemies, memorable bosses, character progression, and, most importantly, breathtaking battles with a wide array of firearms.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify the need, design, and implement foundational systems and tools that impact multiple core areas of the game
  • Provide support for both newly created and existing systems, including the creation of documentation and its maintenance, as well as the prevention of design decay. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to other teams
  • Participate in engineering work planning, including technical discovery, requirements gathering, work breakdown, estimation, and prioritization
  • Ensure exceptional code quality by adhering to engineering excellence, which includes: code maintainability, quality, code reviews

What we are looking for:

  • 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in game development
  • Shipped UE games for PC or console, with ownership of major or key areas of the game
  • Proficiency in C++
  • Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to dive into complex systems and investigate the causes of challenging issues
  • Strong skills in communication and teamwork, ability to collaborate cross-disciplinary and adjust to shifting project requirements as they evolve
  • Fluent communication in Russian is required

Will be a plus:

    • Expertise in one or more of the following aspects of UE:
    • AI
    • Gameplay Systems & GAS
    • Animation
    • Rendering & Performance
    • Custom Editor Tools
  • Experience with 3rd person action games
  • Experience working with console dev kits and handling platform-specific features or optimizations
  • Deep familiarity and hands-on experience with UE source code
