Nekki is a game development studio, the creator of Shadow Fight 4: ArenaShadow Fight 3Shadow Fight 2 and Vector. The total number of registered users for our games exceeds 1 billion worldwide. We develop and release games for PC, consoles, and mobile platforms.

 

Currently, we are seeking a senior game designer to work on a new console action project, Spine.

 

SPINE is made with Unreal Engine 5 and centered around cinematic gun-fu shootouts. It’s a third-person beat’em’up with a full set of PC gaming features, including a deep storyline, a unique setting, cutscenes, intriguing enemies, memorable bosses, character progression, and, most importantly, breathtaking battles with a wide array of firearms.

 

This project represents a new ambitious challenge for the company as it marks our first game for both PC and consoles.

 

We are looking for an experienced game designer to develop bosses: creating mechanics, prototyping, playtesting and processing feedback, co-operation with content teams, and final implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing complex features, collaborating with other teams, and "feature-owning" (from specific opponent mechanics to entire bosses);
  • Writing feature documents, coordinating with other teams, and assigning tasks to other teams - animations, VFX, programmers, etc;
  • Tuning game mechanics (animation frame data, timings, abilities, damage, indicators, etc.);
  • Developing boss AI behavior and prototyping mechanics in UE5;
  • Generating ideas to improve overall game systems - combat system, AI, movement mechanics

What we are looking for:

  • 2+ years of experience as a game designer / senior game designer for core gameplay;
  • Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine, experience with UE Blueprints, and familiarity with the Gameplay Ability System.
  • Fluent communication in Russian is required
    • Will be a plus:
    • Technical background (e.g., technical education, experience as a programmer or technical game designer);
    • Released projects for PC and consoles;
    • Participation in the full development cycle of a project;
    • Experience working in large teams;
    • Current gaming experience in action genre games.
