We’re searching for an experienced creative professional to join us as a UX/UI Artist / Visual Designer. In collaboration with your colleagues, you will be involved in designing and developing user interfaces and interaction systems for our new ambitious project Spine.

 

Spine is made with Unreal Engine 5 and centered around cinematic gun-fu shootouts. It’s a third-person beat’em’up with a full set of PC gaming features, including a deep storyline, a unique setting, cutscenes, intriguing enemies, memorable bosses, character progression, and, most importantly, breathtaking battles with a wide array of firearms.

 

This project represents a new ambitious challenge for the Nekki as it marks our first game for both PC and consoles.

What will you do?

  • Conceptualize and design user interfaces and interactive systems for various gaming platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with game design, art direction, and development teams to create design systems that effectively meet project goals (gameplay, atmosphere, narrative).
  • Illustrate various graphic elements: windows, menus, buttons, icons, logos, spatial indicators, and related decor. Develop concepts for their animation and visual effects. Create and maintain the project's unique visual style.
  • Act as the client for the necessary content direction within other teams.
  • Prepare accompanying documentation, ready assets for implementation into the game engine, and monitor their implementation.
  • Analyze developed solutions, identify vectors for necessary improvements.
  • Introduce innovations and update best practices.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in designing interactive interaction systems, interface design, and/or visual design for gaming projects.
  • Skills in traditional and digital drawing, excellent artistic taste, understanding of design principles, composition basics, and color theory, proficient stylization skills.
  • Ability to work in defined and free styles, creative approach.
  • Cross-genre awareness and a passion for games, an unrestrained desire to develop and improve them.
  • Fluent communication in Russian is required.

What additional skills will help you stand out?

  • Experience in developing interfaces for PC and console gaming projects.
  • Experience with Unreal, GUI layout in the engine.
  • Animation and VFX creation skills (AE/Unreal).
  • Knowledge of 3D packages for modeling, sculpting, rendering.
  • Artistic education.
  • Street art/graffiti background.
  • Interest in modern trends in graphic and game design.
