Jobs requirements

Spine is a narrative-driven action game built on Unreal Engine 5, centered around cinematic gun-fu shootouts. It is a third-person beat ‘em up with a full set of PC gaming features – a deep storyline, unique setting, cutscenes, interesting enemies, memorable bosses, a progression system, and most importantly, exhilarating gunfights with a wide variety of firearms.

This project is a new ambitious challenge for the company – Nekki’s first title for PC and consoles, as well as the beginning of a new cyberpunk franchise.

We are looking for a game designer to work on the movement system and camera.

Responsibilities:

  • Tuning and improving player movement mechanics;
  • Adding new movement elements (e.g., zipline traversal) and parkour tricks (e.g., vaulting over new obstacle types);
  • Designing and fine-tuning the game camera;
  • Writing feature documentation, coordinating with other teams, and assigning tasks to animators, programmers, technical game designers, etc.

What we are looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience as a game designer in core gameplay;
  • Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine, experience with UE Blueprints, and familiarity with the Gameplay Ability System;
  • Experience with 3C (Character, Camera, Control). Non-commercial projects or prototypes will also be considered.

Would be a plus:

  • Technical background (e.g., technical education, experience as a programmer or technical game designer);
  • Experience in full-cycle game development;
  • Experience working in large teams;
  • Hands-on gaming experience with action genre games.
  • Collaborating with combat system designers on related features.
