Nekki, known for the Shadow Fight fighting game series and the Vector parkour runners, is looking for a game designer to work on the new console action project Spine.

 

Spine is a narrative-driven action game built on Unreal Engine 5, centered around cinematic gun-fu shootouts. It is a third-person beat ‘em up with a full set of PC gaming features – a deep storyline, unique setting, cutscenes, interesting enemies, memorable bosses, a progression system, and most importantly, exhilarating gunfights with a wide variety of firearms.

 

This project is a new ambitious challenge for the company – Nekki’s first title for PC and consoles, as well as the beginning of a new cyberpunk franchise.

 

We are looking for a game designer to develop various AI bots – from common enemies frequently encountered in the game to mini-bosses and unique rare opponents.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing bot and player abilities;
  • Developing bot gameplay (‘feature-owning’ bots);
  • Writing fiche documents, following up on other teams, assigning tasks to other teams - animation, VFX, programmers, etc.;
  • Setting up game mechanics (animation framerate, timings, abilities, damage, indication, etc.);
  • Developing bot AI behaviour and prototyping mechanics in UE5;
  • Generating ideas for improving general game systems - combat system, AI, movement mechanics;
  • Working with game designers on related fics.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience working on combat systems in action games;
  • Experience in a gameplay designer / senior cor gameplay designer position of 2 years or more;
  • Good knowledge of Unreal Engine, experience with UE Blueprints and familiarity with Gameplay Ability System.

Would be a plus:

  • Participate in full project development cycle;
  • Actual gaming experience in action genre games;
  • Experience in a small team leader role.
